Kyoto Wall Sconce

Kyoto Wall Sconce by Lumifer

Designed while Javier Robles was traveling through Japan in 2013, the Kyoto lightingcollection is inspired by Japanese calligraphy and ancient military artifacts.

The use of brass, steel and hand-blown glass, as well as its system of central nodes, bodies and limbs, enhance the “machine-like” aesthetic of the collection.

Reinforced by the movement of its arms, the combination of the material, color and shape of the fixture resembles a “bionic” form, which ultimately projects the light, silhouettes and reflections into its surroundings.

The Kyoto wall sconce was designed as a system of “nodes” that can be extended by adding new sets of stacking cats brass nodes, from which more arms, shades and points can grow to increase size and light output.
