No-reflection surfaces, with an absolute matt finish. Innovative manufacturing processes that reduce waste. Combinations of multiple materials. These are a handful of the latest developments introduced and perfected by RAK Ceramics that bring innovation, style and dialogue with traditions into the new bathroom and ceramic collections. The goal is to find solutions that offer striking, sophisticated visual, tactile and sensory characteristics. The common thread that binds the latest collections is a willingness to try and integrate cutting-edge technologies in the pursuit of sustainable, contemporary design. Perhaps the most evident element of this is the choice, at least for cladding options, of a large-format solution that goes hand-in-hand with continuity through their juxtaposition and reduced grouting joints.
The same holds true for some of the other new innovations: Absolute Matt, Orbit 3Rs and Klima. Absolute Matt enables tiles to achieve an extra-matt surface with a completely non-glossy finish, thus avoiding any reflection. Orbit 3Rs enables high-performance surfaces and contributes to reuse by recycling up to 95% of materials in the production process. Klima can be used for tiles that absorb and repel heat as needed, ensuring maximum comfort and minimum energy impact in indoor and outdoor environments.
The B-Materia collection is a unique addition and it was the reason RAK Ceramics won, for the second consecutive year, at the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022. Its surface is the result of combining two natural elements, stone and marble. The resulting design concept easily adapts to a more classical setting or a more modern environment as combining these two materials in one tile exalts the shiny effect of the marble and the texture effect of the stone in a single product. The Dark Ink collection found its inspiration in a modern reinterpretation of a Venetian-style floor, where the use of both black and white brings harmony to the typical granules of a terrace. The mosaic and black brick in matt finish add design and elegance to the collection.
Inspiration was not only found in Italy: Tibur from Baalbek is a journey through architectural history starting in Rome and ending in Lebanon. This option sees a return to a classic stone such as travertine, but in a contemporary reinterpretation with warm colors.
The ancestral beauty of the typical stone of the Normandy coast between Mont-Saint-Michel and Le Tréport finds new life in the Harbor Stone collection, also available in Orbit 3Rs and Klima versions. These are durable, versatile porcelain tiles with a stone-effect in solid, durable and versatile soft tones for both outdoor and indoor use. Many of these new additions were presented in 2022 at leading industry fairs, such as Salone del Mobile in Milan, Cersaie in Bologna and Downtown Design in Dubai.
