Farel by Diego Sferrazza epitomizes the efforts of Luceplan to develop lamps that combine high-quality lighting, outstanding sound-absorption performance and refined design: an original suspension lamp created to improve the comfort of spaces, thanks to a constant focus on parameters of perception as well as aesthetic-functional factors. “Farel comes from the observation of certain architectural structures that exploit zenithal light to brighten spaces. Inspired by the traditional form of the dome - a classic styleme of technical lighting - I have designed a product with minimalist allure that explores the theme of acoustic comfort, without overlooking the decorative aspects,” says Diego Sferrazza. For the first time in the Luceplan catalogue, Farel introduces an iconic dome structure, a neutral geometric form proposed in sound-absorbing thermoformed material - with outer fabric cladding - whose internal ribs create a delicate chiaroscuro effect. The lamp can be personalized thanks to a combination of colors of the shade, ranging through cool, warm and neutral tones for the outside, combined with dark or pale hues for the inside. The structure is outfitted at the top and along the lower diameter by two metal rings, available in different finishes that can be freely fastened to the shade for complete customizing on the part of the user. The essential design of the diffuser enhances the optical part with a component of great technical impact: the heat sink, whose color is coordinated with the rings, extends outside the dome, positioned over the upper hole; the light source is an integrated LED module, and can be used with a dimmer. The result is a suspension lamp for direct lighting - ideal for public and private spaces - in perfect tune with the surroundings, while guaranteeing high sound-absorption performance.
