Design, Technology and Sustainability

Antrax has participated in the project

Specializing in designer radiators, Antrax IT strives to concretely offer eco-sustainable products that use resources optimally while also delivering the performance and aesthetic levels required for leading architectural products. In this paradigm, it has built the sustainability of its business around low environmental impact manufacturing processes, energy efficient products and materials that can be reused at the end of their lifecycle.

Antrax IT radiators are made of aluminum or carbon steel to produce an amalgam of style - each model is conceived by a leading international designer - and energy efficiency through reduced water usage. Waffle is an excellent example of this. It was designed by Piero Lissoni and took home “Best of the Best” at the Iconic Innovation Awards 2020 for its evocative reminder of classic cast-iron radiators, but in a modern guise with high performance materials such as aluminum, which is 100% recyclable at the end of the product lifecycle. Waffle is available in eleven embossed coatings that really highlight the material effects and five different sizes to meet any project requirement. Then there is the Serie T, the design child of Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez. Here, customization is the order of the day, right down to the centimeter and with over 200 color hues to choose from. The essence of this product is a simple aluminum T profile that can be adapted to a remarkable array of functional uses, including a display shelf, bookshelf or, on the more traditional front, a towel warmer. This line has recently taken another interesting step with
T Tower - a freestanding electric radiator with a pure, linear shape that can be placed almost anywhere in a room.

Elegant, contemporary designs, use of technology and respect for the environment are only some of the more visible elements of this company, as it is also at the forefront of a technological green revolution in which its products are manufactured almost entirely in-house, providing the flexibility and room for customization that is central to customers’ expectations. In such an optic, since 2011, about 80% of the power used at the plant comes from an extensive photovoltaic installation on the roof and the untreated radiator units undergo a treatment, prior to coating, based on nanotechnology to remove pollutant residues from the manufacturing process that would otherwise be problematic to dispose of further down the line. Everything Antrax IT does - from the manufacturing process to product functionality and attention to detail - is driven by eco-sustainability in harmony with innovative technologies, turning product design into the art of creating complex elements with essential shapes and an architectural feel.
