Bathrooms have undergone a sea-change: the room is no longer seen as a simple facility, but a comfortable place to relax in and feel good. The upgrade in how it’s used applies to what it looks like as well. Delos is Duravit’s new bathroom furniture series designed in collaboration with EOOS. Its design features are clean-cut essential straight lines and shapes. The Delos pièce de resistance is the console, a single spacious rectangular surface which appears to float in the room with its supports hidden invisibly in the wall. The light elegant line of the console top is completed by a large rectangular mirror lit by LEDs from a delicate canopy that sheds indirect light downwards, avoiding all dazzle. A steel towel-holder may be attached to either edge of the console top which may also be extended outwards by a flanking extra-white glass shelf. Delos comes in a white high-gloss finish or in real wood (walnut or oak) with a brushed haptic finish. Other pieces include tall or half-height handle-less cabinets and drawers that open or close at a press. Finished internally in Diamond Black, the cabinets are fitted with glass shelves, while drawers may also be subdivided by an interior organiser system in walnut or maple.
Delos furniture was designed to complete Duravit’s Darling New, D-Code and Vero sanitaryware series, but it also goes pleasingly with a number of other Duravit console basins.
