The interiors of the iconic London headquarters of the Club Quarters Hotel St Paul's have been redesigned by Holloway Li, paying homage to the building's rich post-war heritage while integrating a café and co-working space into a more contemporary vision.
This project marks the first of four hotels that Holloway Li will complete for the brand, located in the United States and London. The approach focuses on refined details, with custom touches and spatial fluidity in a timeless design.

The refurbishment of the 265 guest rooms preserves the architectural integrity of the mid-century building, intertwining its historical context with contemporary London. The interiors feature warm tones and vibrant accents, achieving a perfect balance of elegance, comfort, and functionality in a classic setting.

Guest reception is enhanced by the renovated lobby, celebrating the building’s architectural identity. The interiors draw inspiration from the Portland stone façade and Geoffrey Wickham's abstract cast bronze sculptures.
Upon entering the property, guests are welcomed by a solid, sculpted cherry wood wall designed in collaboration with furniture designer James Trundle. The elegant cherry wood walls feature bronze-framed cut-outs lined with dark oak, creating a visual contrast that echoes the brand's original motifs.
Holloway Li applied its digital expertise to create innovative three-dimensional wall coverings, meticulously crafted by Process Studio. This covering, designed as a series of interchangeable tiles, cast shadows and reflections, harnessing the hotel's southern exposure. The new reception and café counter, complemented by bespoke stone columns, clearly distinguish the concierge area from the bar, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.

The self-check-in area is elevated with elements such as fluted glass, bronze-tinted mirrors, and solid oak, creating a cohesive visual language that unifies the various aspects of the space.
Lounge Banquette Side © Nicholas Worley, courtesy Holloway LiThe Club Living Room has been designed by Holloway Li as a welcoming environment suited for any time of day, transforming from a daytime workspace into a relaxing evening lounge. Carefully curated artwork adds character and personality to the space.
A large canvas depicting oranges tells the story of the adjacent park near St Paul's Cathedral, contributing to a broader narrative for the project.
Lounge Overall Side © Nicholas Worley, courtesy Holloway LiAt the heart of the lounge is a five-metre-long blue lava stone table, serving as a focal point that anchors the space. Surrounding it are a variety of seating options, including fixed banquettes, virtual meeting pods, and flexible, informal relaxation areas that complete the decor.

The bespoke desk designs, paired with custom table lamps created in collaboration with lighting designer Joe Armitage, further elevate the attention to detail in the rooms. The artwork and finishes tell the story of Holloway Li’s inspiration for this project, achieving harmony between classic and modern elements.
