For Maison&Objet Americas (10 to 13 May), Oikos Venezia’s security doors made the trip across the ocean to Miami Beach. After recently opening a branch in New York, this Italian company is continuing its expansion on the other side of the Atlantic, showing its focus is international, especially American.

The Arckey access control system was one of the new products on display in Miami, with an electronic lock controlled by the Oikos Tech smartphone app that can be integrated with a numeric keypad, card reader or a transponder.

Arckey opens up a range of options, including the keyless opening from inside simply by pushing the handle and the “free façade” doors without handles that integrate seamlessly into the building.

Tekno was also notable. These high-security doors come in an array of finishings to ensure the door can integrate into most interior design settings.

The single panel or sector structure, the coplanar or flush options and the absence of visible screws or hinges are the features shared by Tekno and Synua, a vertical pivot door that stands out for its size (e.g. 2.2x3 m for a single door). Oikos is constantly in touch with the world of architecture and now it is presenting its products in the United States, focusing on harmony and customization.
