Patrícia Santos Pedrosa | The Plan

Patrícia Santos Pedrosa

Architect, Researcher at Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies, Invited Assistant Professor at UBI

Patrícia is an architect, researcher, professor, feminist, activist and mother. She is Researcher and Project Leader of [email protected] – Women Architects in Portugal: building visibility, 1942-1986, a research project under Portuguese Government Funding (2018-2022). Patrícia is also Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies (University of Lisbon), Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Beira Interior and Co-Founder and President of the Women in Architecture in Portugal association. She has received a Degree in Architecture from Técnico Lisboa in 1997, a Master in History of Art from Nova University Lisbon in 2008, a PhD in Architecture from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2010, and a postgraduate degree in Feminist Studies from the University of Coimbra in 2016. Patrícia has obtained the Young Researchers in Art Studies Award in 2008 and her main research areas are history of architecture (women and XX century); architecture, cities and gender; feminist urbanism.

Valerio Paolo Mosco

Architecture Critic

Valerio Paolo Mosco, architect and critic, has written several books among which: Giuseppe Terragni: la guerra, la fine (2020); Architettura italiana. Dal postmoderno ad oggi (2017); L'ultima cattedrale (2016); Naked Architecture (2012); Cinquant'anni di ingegneria italiana (2010), Steven Holl (2010), Architettura a zero volume (with Aldo Aymonino, 2016). He teaches at IUAV in Venice and at Cornell University. He has taught at I.I.T. in Chicago, at Pamplona University and at Politecnico di Milano. He is director of the online magazine Viceversa.

Elena Tomasi

In 1997, having graduated from the University of Parma in hydraulic engineering, she joined Impresa Pizzarotti, holding various roles before moving to Engeco SAM in the Principality of Monaco. Over 12 years in Monaco, she has been involved in numerous projects, in an array of roles. She is currently heading up FPMC, a Monaco-based company that focuses on marketing luxury real estate developments. She is also responsible for a real estate development team that operates abroad, notably in France and the United States.

Diane Gray

Executive Director LA(H)B, Editor in Chief Roca Gallery 

Diane Gray is the Executive Director of the Laboratory of Architecture for Healthcare Barcelona [LA(H)B] and the Editor in Chief of the Roca Gallery online publication. From 1990 to 2013 she was the Coordinator of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture–Mies van der Rohe Award, and Curator of the collection and archive of the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, Barcelona. She has organized and participated in numerous international conferences, exhibitions and publications focused on contemporary architecture, design and urbanism. She is a member of the Board of Directors of ArquinFAD.

Yehuda Emmanuel Safran is an internationally renowned critic of art and architecture. He has taught at the Architectural Association, Goldsmith’s College of Art, the Royal College of Art, the Jan van Eyck Academie, Harvard University Graduate School Of Design, and the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation of the Columbia University. His essays are published in numerous international sector magazines and journals. I have a weakness for a touch of Red, his most recent book, comprises a selection of all his texts published on artists and architects in Portugal.

HUANG Wenjing

Founding Partner OPEN, Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University and China Central Academy of Fine Arts

Huang Wenjing, AIA, and LI Hu co-founded OPEN in New York City and established the studio’s Beijing office in 2008. Some of the award-winning projects by OPEN include: Chapel of Sound, Tank Shanghai, UCCA Dune Art Museum, Shanghai Qingpu Pinghe International School, and Garden School/Beijing No.4 High School Fangshan Campus.
Prior to OPEN, Huang was a senior designer and associate at the New York-based firm Pei Cobb Freed and Partners.

Michael Webb | The Plan

Michael Webb

Michael Webb Hon. AIA/LA has authored 25 books on architecture and design, most recently Architects' Houses, Building Community: New Apartment Architecture, and a memoir, Moving Around: A Lifetime of Wandering, while editing and contributing essays to a score of monographs. He is also a regular contributor to leading journals in the United States, Asia and Europe. Growing up in London, he was an editor at The Times and Country Life, before moving to the U.S., where he directed film programs for the American Film Institute through the 1970s and curated a Smithsonian exhibition on the history of the American cinema.

Li Xiangning | The Plan

Li Xiangning

Full Professor and Assistant Dean at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University

Li Xiangning, deputy dean and professor of history, theory and criticism at Tongji University College of Architecture and Urban Planning. Li Xiangning has lectured widely on contemporary Chinese architecture and urbanism and published on these topics in international architecture journals. He has been a visiting scholar at MIT, a fellow at MAK Center of Art and Architecture in Los Angeles, and a visiting professor at TU Darmstadt; and he has curated the Chengdu and Shenzhen Biennale exhibitions, among various distinctions.
