The concept was developed by transforming the old factory at the village entrance into a multifunctional community market, which aimed to blend the needs of both villagers and tourists by providing a shared space for daily activities, commercial purposes and visitor services. Drawing inspiration from the nearby Nineteen Peaks, the architects reimagined the factory's large white box structure into twelve ice peak-like tents. This design pays homage to the local landscape while providing a visually striking and iconic landmark. The use of modern materials like PTFE membranes and anti-corrosion wood ensured durability and suitability for the village's humid climate. By incorporating large wooden roofs and flowing grey areas, the design provides shaded environments for various activities.

The Xiayanbei village, situated in a mountainous region at an altitude of 350 meters, is frequently enveloped in clouds and mist, creating a serene and picturesque environment. The project aims to harmonize with the local scenery and appeal to outdoor lovers. The adaptive reuse preserves the village's historical context while providing modern amenities. The design mirrors the natural white ice peak formations, blending seamlessly with the mountainous landscape. The use of PTFE membranes and anti-corrosion wood complements the environment, ensuring durability while maintaining a natural aesthetic. The flexible, modular spaces within the market can adapt to various uses, from commercial activities to social gatherings, enhancing the village's economic and social vitality.

Durable Materials are chosen for their durability, resistance to weather conditions, and minimal environmental impact. They reduce the need for frequent replacements, thus lowering the project's carbon footprint. These modules promote biodiversity by supporting plant growth on rooftops. They also reduce stormwater runoff, improve air quality, and contribute to better thermal insulation, enhancing energy efficiency. The project incorporates design elements that maximize natural light and ventilation, reducing the reliance on artificial lighting and HVAC systems. This not only conserves energy but also creates a more comfortable and healthier environment for users.

The project showcases twelve sculptural ice peak structures seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape. Located deliberately for improved accessibility, it fosters harmony between villagers and visitors through a shared space concept with ambiguous ownership. Inside, flexible, modular spaces cater to diverse functions, from commercial activities to social gatherings, establishing the market as a dynamic community hub. Each tent features a steel frame, offering strength and flexibility to achieve irregular shapes. Covered in milky white, semi-transparent ETFE membrane, the tents combine durability, lightness, and a distinctive appearance reminiscent of ice peaks. The large roofs are crafted from carbonized anti-corrosion wood in a natural wood color, enhancing durability and providing a warm, rustic texture.

Villagers appreciate the modular interior spaces, which offer flexibility for daily activities and community events. The large wooden roofs provide much-needed shelter, enhancing comfort and usability in the village's humid climate. Tourists are drawn to the striking ice peak-like tents, which create a memorable landmark and a unique aesthetic experience. The platformed rooftops with panoramic views have become popular spots for taking in the natural beauty of the surroundings.
