Il Prisma

Can a building anticipate the challenges of the future? Bernina 7 aims to lead these challenges. Instead of passively waiting for changes, it moves ahead with the strategic vision of a pioneer, activating a series of Open movements. The goal of the redevelopment was to create an open system that dialogues with the external context—an outpost in the neighborhood, anticipating future changes and offering a privileged view of the transformations in the former Scalo Farini area.

Embracing the “Open” concept, Bernina 7 pioneers new dynamics by introducing an ecosystem that enhances new ways of working and green spaces previously absent in the former Scalo Farini area. This transformation anticipates future urban trends, establishing Bernina 7 as a forward-thinking outpost that offers a unique perspective on the ongoing transformations in the evolving context of Scalo Farini.

Bernina 7 has achieved LEED Platinum Certification. The building was also awarded WiredScore Gold certification for its exceptional digital connectivity, a crucial factor for prospective tenants. Bernina 7 worked closely with WiredScore to assess, enhance, and certify its digital infrastructure, ensuring ample space and support for service provider equipment. The building's infrastructure allows for quick installation of current and future connectivity needs, ensuring electrical resilience and accessibility. Moreover, a pre-installed fiber backbone facilitates reliable mobile and wireless connectivity.

The project leverages the building's great unexpressed potential to influence the area's development, thanks to its mass and visibility. There are four key aspects of Open system:

  • Open Work imagines a building ready to accommodate modern, efficient, and flexible ways of working, with multiple accesses, outdoor spaces, and large terraces that serve as decompression spaces and areas where nature reclaims parts of the city.
  • Open Square enables the building to manage different levels of relationship between public and private space, with a dynamic and open welcome area. This area is designed as a system for regulating the square's modularity, with two front buildings acting as magnetic boxes that light up to make the street safer and more vibrant.
  • Open Landscape focuses on sustainability. Bernina 7 transforms its outdoor areas and roofs into green squares, terraces, and gardens that promote local floral biodiversity, unique in the neighborhood while awaiting the future urban park. These spaces also provide new places for social interaction.
  • Open Scalo Farini is the desire to anticipate the issues that the transformation of Scalo Farini will bring in the coming years. It involves orienting towards the airport to be ready to engage with the city of the future.

Bernina 7 pioneers new life dynamics in the Scalo Farini area with its “Open” concept. It introduces an ecosystem that enhances new ways of working and engages with the external environment, acting as a neighborhood outpost that anticipates Milan 2030. This approach offers a privileged view of the transformations in the former Scalo Farini area.
