The project harmonizes with its natural and urban surroundings. Located at 380 meters on Maluan Mountain, the design leverages the natural topography, with structures positioned to maximize scenic viewpoints while ensuring minimal disruption to the existing landscape. The Z-shaped pathway traverses the building, integrating the natural landscape into the architectural experience. Lightweight materials like UHPC and semi-transparent acrylic ensure unobstructed views and fluid form. Socially, it acts as a cultural hub, attracting local and non-local visitors, boosting tourism, and stimulating the economy, benefiting nearby businesses and services.
Sustainability is the core principle in the design of the Yunhai Forest Service Station. The structure and materials were selected based on construction conditions and environmental resilience, achieving large-span, column-free, transparent, and multi-directional cantilevered spaces. Prefabricated steel structures and curtain wall systems minimize construction waste and onsite labor. The exterior walls use ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) panels, known for their durability and low maintenance, extending the building's lifespan. The design also integrates energy-efficient systems and materials to reduce carbon usage.
