The project is targeted to create an office park centered around art and creativity. The site is located in the triangular terrain of Phoenix Valley in the southern of Hangzhou. Inspired by primitive settlements in natural settings, the design explores the blend of natural valley landscapes and urban development. The project features eight 120° Y-shaped buildings arranged to follow the terrain, maximizing the triangular site's efficiency and resembling an organic settlement. These transparent and modern office buildings offer high-quality spaces with excellent lighting, ventilation, and diverse public rest areas, while being adaptable to future personalized office trends.

The Phoenix Valley, formerly an industrial mining area, has been restored to a natural ecological state. It is now surrounded by cultural institutions. This unique combination of natural landscapes and cultural resources influenced the establishment of the project, which will provide needed space for entrepreneurship and employment in the area. The triangular site, with its specific dimensions, is optimally utilized by the Y-shaped buildings, which harmonize with the terrain. The materials used in construction emphasize interaction between office activities and the natural scenery, fostering a creative work environment.
The project prioritises sustainability and ecological compatibility through a variety of strategies, materials and techniques. The design maximizes land use and minimizes negative space, crucial for the site’s irregular shape and significant elevation changes. The use of natural materials like stone, along with extensive greenery and outdoor terraces, promotes environmental harmony. The Y-shaped building adapts to the terrain, ensuring optimal natural lighting and ventilation, and reducing the need for artificial climate control. Rooftop gardens improve sustainability by providing insulation, reducing stormwater runoff, and creating additional green spaces. This approach not only preserves the natural beauty but also fosters a dynamic interaction between the built environment and nature.
The triangular site with dimensions of approximately 140 meters on the southeast side, 270 meters on the southwest side, and 230 meters on the north side, with an elevation difference exceeding 10 meters. The eight Y-shaped buildings harmonize with the natural terrain. The main entrance on the northeast side aligns with the primary access to the Phoenix Valley Creative Arts area, featuring dynamic, angled Y-shaped ends that create an inviting plaza and leverage elevation changes. By twisting two central buildings and incorporating terraces, the design creates cohesive public spaces. The tiered building heights respect the natural north-to-south slope and maximize sunlight exposure, with five-story buildings on the north and southeast sides and three/four-story buildings on the southwest side. The valley location allows for maximized scenic views, with outdoor terraces on each level providing excellent spaces for relaxation. Roof gardens are designed to balance activity spaces with equipment placement, enhancing the utility and aesthetics of the rooftop areas. The Y-shaped structure breaks down into modular spaces with smart core layouts, ensuring fluid, cohesive, and dynamic interiors tailored to the branding and style of different enterprises. The façade design merges urban sophistication with natural elements, using continuous horizontal lines on the Y-sides to emphasize the natural extension of the buildings.
Inspired by settlement prototypes, the design envisions seamless interaction between office spaces and natural landscapes. Leveraging the region's unique natural and cultural resources, the government and client aim to construct a headquarters park centered on art and creativity, attracting top creative companies. Through innovative design, environment sensitivity, and the creation of a vibrant cultural hub. It respects the site’s historical context while embracing its future potential.
