Inspired by key words such as ideal city and future community, the architects created a futurist architectural form that focuses on openness, cooperation and sharing. The challenges the architects confronted include: balance life and work, attract the youth from online to offline to communicate with others and embrace nature, and provide a community living space. From the combination of office and commercial businesses to the sharing of production resources, creating a new way of working and living is what the architects needed to do.
Via a three-dimensional space system, the architects combined work, commerce, life services, culture and entertainment as well as other businesses, linking the life resources of the entire city together.
Under the limited conditions of land use, it was still necessary to consider the client’s requirements, such as setting up an iconic entrance of the city center, maximizing the height of the office, and separating the partial flow of people and vehicles. The architects meticulously analyzed the site conditions and made responses, and installed overhead spaces in all directions on the ground floor. By breaking down the physical boundaries and connecting the city with the central garden, the project not only attracts more attentions to the businesses, but also offers public activity spaces to the city.
The designers took a different tact and set off the design from the different uses of a single space in different time dimensions. Multiple public spaces were set, with changing functions over time, achieving multi-functional effects. For example, the open central garden and several open spaces connected to the central garden, the large multi-functional stairs in the commercial atrium, multiple social platforms surrounding the inner atrium of the high-rise buildings and the terraced landscape platforms on the roof, etc. The above-mentioned diversified scenes provide young people with more spaces for imagination in their way of life and work. The integration and innovation of work, life and natural spaces have transformed the building into an “ideal city”.
The project adopts the conceptual planning system with the theme of “City Above The Clouds”. Four main buildings are stacked on double-storey circular commercial podium buildings respectively to form a central green park. The commercial space on the first floor has multiple entrances connected to the city, creating a vibrant, three-dimensional and open ideal city.
Based on the context of contemporary design, the facade form blends into the urban space through retrained design techniques, and uses stretched and neat horizontal lines as the mechanism to gradually retract and retreat as it rises gracefully upwards. On the other hand, the tower building stands strong in contrast, like the sharp difference between “virtual” and “reality”. On the exterior, glass, aluminum panel and stone are the materials used to outline the light-weight and clear profile of the building, fully expressing the ideology of a vertical ideal city.
The project explores the possibility of the verticality of the city center. Through innovative development, the architects integrated optimized resources and made a new interpretation on the relationship among work, commerce and life, solving the exploration of urban renewal and new lifestyles.
