The project is located in Shanghai International Tourism Resorts 1# south area, including east and west plots, with superior surrounding city landscape, under the limits of 40m height and 2.5 plot ratio. Combined with the site conditions, the project adopts the spatial layout of courtyard, functionally meeting the 120,000㎡area needs of the internal dormitory area and the shared commercial district, and forming a unique internal space for social activities. Meanwhile, it creates a unique image on the external urban interface.

The design adopts the enclosed courtyard pattern to create architectural image, while maximizing the surrounding landscape view. It creates a space experience that optimizes the privacy & daylight, and maximizes the shared space. The inner dormitory area has a complete and clear interface like a "castle", which shelters two huge shared courtyards in the city. The shared functions are arranged along the street, activating the public square on the corner, forming a friendly activity space for the citizens, thus ensuring a pleasant living environment for the castle residents.

The high near-line rate of the building ensures the integrity of the urban interface, and the openings of the castle stimulate people's imagination of the inner courtyard. Entering the courtyard, the open activity courtyard opens into view, and the residents can move into the castle through efficient management. The central park, the verandah runway, the roof garden, and the battlements of the lookout space form a 3D landscape together, unfolding a lively life picture in the courtyard. Battlements, city gates, overpasses, gymnasium, canteen are internal & external friendly living places. The jagged-down observation deck connects the landscape view of the courtyard and the city, while taking the rainwater collection and solar energy storage into account.

The project creates a residential living model with a unique experience, which can be obtained at different heights of the castle- the ground floor areas enjoy larger balconies close to the courtyard, the middle areas have centralized terraces and roof gardens, and the upper floors enjoy wider views of the city. Open "battlements" and "city gates" liven up the urban interface, avoiding visual tedium. Unlike the closed feeling of a traditional courtyard, the cityscape can also permeate the inner compound. The two castles are connected by pedestrian Bridges to form a corridor system, connecting community public functions such as sports and dining halls, making the east and west plots easy to share and open to the public.

Castle residents enjoy a living environment with super building spacing and maximum southern lighting, free from eye contact and occlusion, and each residence shares a green courtyard. It presents a dream place that interprets the core of the brand, creates a high-quality dynamic place, and establishes a natural and harmonious community benchmark.
