A nest nestled in the branches, an elevated sanctuary, allows natural light to flood every corner.
The glass slides, erasing the boundaries between exterior/interior, allowing to hear
the birdsong, the whisper of the wind, the murmur of the water.
Lobby, hanging bridge, library.
The interior-soft textures in earth tones, artisanal details.
At sunrise and sunset, light filters through the leaves, creating a play of shadows…
a place of peace.

The intention of the project was to erase architecture with nature. Built with natural materials that harmonize with the surroundings: concrete in different finishes, steel, wood in warm tones, large glass panels that reflect the green of the forest, and stones that seem to have been placed by nature itself. The architecture and interior design is not only a reflection of the natural environment, it is also a celebration of it.
At sunrise and sunset, the house is transformed. Sunlight filters through the leaves, creating a play of light and shadow that dances across the surfaces. And at night, the house is softly illuminated, a lantern of warm light suspended in the darkness, a place of peace and tranquility in perfect coexistence with nature.
Itambe is a house "suspended" in the air, as if it were floating among the treetops.
The project was based on the need to bring the house inside the ravine considering a minimum support on the ground, it required a flying platform supported by a composite element called "tetrapod", which consists of 4 tubular steel elements that converge on a foundation block, supported by reinforced concrete piles to the strong soil of rock, this set of structural elements, give the sensation of floating allowing the growth of flora all around.
The project is developed in two volumes, separating public and private areas, connected to each other by a enclosed suspended bridge, causing a visual-sensory impact when discovering the panoramic views of the ravine.
The glass walls slide and open, blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior, allowing natural light to flood every corner and the sounds of the forest - birdsong, the murmur of the wind, the distant whisper of water - to fill the home.
The Itambe house is more than just a residence; it is an architectural masterpiece that challenges conventional notions of living spaces. It stands as a testament to what can be achieved when architecture is designed with both creativity and a deep respect for nature. This project sets a new standard for future developments, proving that it is possible to create innovative, sustainable, and visually stunning homes that enhance our connection to the natural world.
