The design location is located in Dayi County, Chengdu City, China. The Qiang culture here is a unique cultural resource with multiple Qiang cultural attractions. The design draws inspiration from the Qiang village, extracts and translates the architectural form of the Qiang village, learns the layout of the village, the architectural volume of the urban village, the rammed earth materials that are close to nature, and the high opening of windows on the facade to express traditional culture in a modern way, which plays a certain role in inheriting and promoting regional culture.
The site boasts dense bamboo forests and ancient trees, most of which have been preserved as part of the hotel's landscape design. The hotel selects local specialty mother stones, which are used for public area entrances, guest room landscape retaining walls, and other places. The design fully respects the local culture and natural landscape, and hopes to take on some social and environmental responsibilities, so that nature and architecture can fully blend harmoniously.
The site has a dense bamboo forest and ancient trees, most of which were retained as part of the landscape design of the hotel. The hotel selected the local characteristics of the mother stone used in the entrance of the public area, guest room landscape retaining wall and other places. The building facade material is sourced from local orange red rammed earth。The building is built against the mountain, following the terrain and adhering to the principle of "minimizing excavation of the mountain as much as possible", and naturally and harmoniously embedded into the mountain.
The Qiangzhai culture is unique in the western Sichuan region. Design to extract and translate the architectural form of Qiang Village, expressing traditional culture in a modern way. The project consists of public areas, hot springs, restaurants, and 112 guest rooms, differentiated by the height difference of the site. The public area separates the urban interface from the interior of the hotel, defining and entertaining through courtyards, and sets up sequences such as drop courtyards, waterfall courtyards, and spiritual water courtyards within the hotel to elongate the flow and enrich the experience. The hot spring center adopts the design concept of "walled villages", adopts modern standard modules, and combines platform height differences to create a rich and diverse spatial experience. As a landmark building, the mountaintop restaurant is designed with the concept of "Three Life Stones", and the bottom floor lifts people into the air, providing excellent visibility; The roof is shaped into a wildfire pit space, and ceremonial torches are lit every night to celebrate everyone's gathering. On the basis of standard basic modules, various room types are derived through different combinations. Each unit has a landscape courtyard of over 40 square meters, with a private swimming pool in the courtyard. The rooms are connected by alleys, creating a rural living atmosphere.
The design fully respects the local culture and landscape, hoping to take on some social and environmental responsibilities in addition to doing a good job in the shape and function of the project itself.
