The idea for the Hilton Hotel Expansion at Universal Studios, Los Angeles, arose from the increasing visitor numbers and the consequent demand for enhanced hospitality services. The design respects the existing spatial order by adopting a modest strategy, extending a multi-directional grid plan on the slope next to the parking building. This creates a parallel layout that complements the existing tower and presents a new hotel image facing Highway 101. The modular and prefabricated construction strategy complies with Los Angeles's seismic standards, promoting sustainability. Inspired by Hollywood's film texture and DreamWorks' dreamy atmosphere, the design features a dynamic grid facade that changes with weather conditions, offering guests a unique and surprising visual experience.

The dynamic design is characterized by a harmonious integration of natural and urban elements, enhancing the skyline with its distinctive design and enriching the visitor experience. The design leverages the natural slope of the hill to create layered public spaces such as pool bars, outdoor spas, and gyms, optimizing land use and connecting indoor and outdoor environments. Located between Universal Studios and Highway 101, the project offers panoramic views of Los Angeles, including unobstructed sunset vistas, and provides easy access to major urban destinations. The dynamic grid facades change with weather conditions, enhancing the building’s aesthetic appeal and resonating with LA's vibrant natural environment.

The project adheres to efficient building standards and energy-saving design practices, including advanced energy management systems and high-efficiency equipment to minimize energy consumption. Careful selection of building structures and materials ensures long-term energy optimization during operation. The project features a dynamic facade design that adjusts automatically based on weather conditions, enhancing the building's energy performance. This design effectively controls indoor temperature and enhances comfort. In landscape design, the project maximizes the site's topography and vegetation characteristics, utilizing locally adapted plants and natural drainage systems to reduce water demand and promote local biodiversity conservation and enhancement.

The public spaces are thoughtfully designed to optimize land use while providing guests with seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor environments. The elevation changes are used to create a terraced effect, offering unique vantage points and enhancing the overall aesthetic of the hotel. Dynamic Facades and Aesthetic Appeal: The grid facade creates a building that is not only visually appealing but also responsive to its environment, but also reflecting the vibrant natural environment of the city. Urban and Environmental Harmony: The design includes extensive use of green spaces and terraces that blend with the surrounding hills, creating a sense of continuity between the built environment and nature. The hotel expansion includes a range of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience. The design ensures that these amenities are easily accessible and offer stunning views, providing guests with a sense of relaxation and luxury. Additionally, the strategic placement of these amenities within the layered structure ensures privacy and exclusivity. Cultural and Social Impact: The Hilton Hotel Expansion also aims to contribute to the cultural and social fabric of Los Angeles. By providing a visually appealing and functional space, the project enhances the city's hospitality offerings. This fosters a sense of community and makes the hotel a dynamic hub within the city.

The innovative design seamlessly blends natural and urban elements, creating a unique and sustainable environment. The use of green technologies and eco-friendly materials underscores our commitment to sustainability, while the stunning panoramic views and prime location enhance the guest experience. This project not only enriches Los Angeles's skyline but also sets a new standard for hospitality excellence. We are proud to offer a space that is both luxurious and environmentally responsible.
