Domes Noruz Mykonos, wrapped in a mediterranean atmosphere

URBAN SOUL PROJECT

The concept was driven by the desire to integrate luxury and sophistication with the lively, festive lifestyle characteristic of Mykonos. This project evolved through a collaboration between Domes and Bain Capital Special Situations, aimed at forging an exclusive, adults-only retreat that captures both the peaceful and dynamic aspects of the Mediterranean atmosphere.

The development sought to offer a distinctive, premium experience tailored for adult guests, emphasizing relaxation alongside privileged access to the island's renowned cultural and nightlife offerings. This vision was realized through careful design, dedicated service, and thoughtful guest interactions, establishing Domes Noruz Mykonos as a standout luxury destination within the competitive landscape of the Greek islands.

The resort is situated on the outskirts of the slope, while the linear deep plot and the building's development along it create an uninterrupted visual connection with the sea from all sides, with most rooms offering a sea view. Internal, external, and semi-covered staircases create the feeling of navigating through a traditional island village. During the redesign, private courtyards were added to the rooms, along with small private swimming pools, pergolas, balconies, and semi-outdoor spaces on the upper floors. This ensured a strong connection with the outdoors to enhance the Greek outdoor lifestyle, while still maintaining privacy as much as possible.

Nestled in Agios Stefanos Bay, Domes Noruz Mykonos is just ten minutes from Mykonos town. Inspired by the ageless allure of Cycladic minimalism, this five- star hotel seamlessly incorporates Myconean forms, notably seen in the delicate claustra, which adorn its exterior.

Light and shadows are carefully orchestrated, with large windows and openings filling communal and private spaces with natural light, creating depth and character.
Originally an existing building on the verge of oblivion, it has been reborn, preserving its heritage with natural materials and soft edges. Every room captures Aegean views, promoting relaxation and slow living.

The building incorporates a selection of natural materials like marble, timber, and local stone in its construction and decor. These elements not only contribute to the Cycladic aesthetic but also evoke a sense of grounding and connection to the island’s natural beauty. Breathtaking Aegean panoramas are a hallmark of this design.

A focus on slow living and understated luxury is evident, with most rooms featuring private pools or jacuzzis for a personal oasis.
Communal areas encourage calmness, allowing you to savor the moment. Our infinity pool, designed to be shared and savored, offers the perfect spot to unwind, take a deep breath, and fully immerse yourself in the essence of relaxation.

In a world of overdesigned spaces, Domes Noruz Mykonos offers humble luxury, indulging you in life’s simple pleasures.

The architecture of Domes Noruz combines global luxury standards with the rich cultural backdrop of Mykonos. This fusion brings forth the Mediterranean charm, enveloping guests in a realm where the stress of daily life melts away, inviting them into a new world that connects deeply with the locale. The "sense of place” is stimulated through a sensory experience design.
