The New AKM, Opera House and cultural center brings together social, artistic, and cultural performance units that stimulate urban flow; one of which is the terrace restaurant open to the panoramas of Bosphorus and Historic Peninsula, located on top of the opera hall. By the unique cuisine that revives the inherited values, respecting taste, authentic ingredients, traditional production methods and tools, kitchen and service equipment, the design- a combination of various compartments in an ambient entity- follows the culinary culture of Istanbul, reflecting its colors and stories. Like ceramic panels in varying colors and tones, modular materials bear traces of Istanbul and, AKM architecture.

One of the values that Istanbul- which was one of the most important points on the Silk and Spice routes and became the capital of two great empires, by blending the very different cultures it has gained through commercial and cultural exchanges as an important port city- is the food it encounters and brings together by going beyond Anatolia and Ottoman lands; it is a unique food culture with its ingredients. The restaurant aims cultural sustainability by retaining and improving values and attitudes. Terrace restaurant, which will both provide financial support to the cultural enterprise and ensure that Istanbulites access to wide views, and serve as an intermediate space before the play, is a fragment of an artistic performance structure.

Inspired by the interior proportions of Istanbul’s waterside mansions, the space has a terrace area with wide panoramas. All the compartments have connections to the terrace; a folding glass facade ensures that the interior and exterior areas can be combined. Although the mechanical infrastructure is ready, taking advantage of the Istanbul climate, heating and cooling will only be balanced naturally for more than 9 months. A vegetable garden, watered by collected rainwater and benefiting a compost tank fed by leftovers of the kitchen, is planned at the back terrace to provide fresh herbs and vegetables for the menu.

On the terrace floor, the first of the hospitality spaces, consisting of interlocking compartments, is the "intimate sofa" area, one can get fast service while waiting, make use of the short time before the show, and browse the books on the surrounding shelves. Following section serves as a brasserie in a table setting, serving traditional home cuisine, seasonal or special occasion dishes, and a menu that suits the concept and changing content. Blue/turquoise ceramic back wall coverings, which are handled together with the mirror and ceiling coverings. In the third (middle) section, designed with the fluid coexistence of modules with curvilinear forms, the street tastes of Istanbul are presented with visual richness beyond the delicatessen flavor unique to the city and Anatolia. The show kitchen, located behind the last counter of these curvilinear modules, one serves as a large bar, makes the space unique in line with traditional cooking methods. Like the curvilinear bar counter in the middle, the tables in this space are made of white onyx, like the original fireplace in the living room. With its terrace and interior with a view the Historic Peninsula, the corner zone is the “exclusive kitchen” and presentation content with white linen tablecloths, a customizable flexible table arrangement with special wine-case. The ceramic wall in this place is preferred in purple tones as a color used in the palace to represent nobility in the Byzantine and Ottoman periods.

With prevailing panoramas of Bosphorus, the inclusive and embracing urban magnet where people spend time around, including fine-dining opportunities, the restaurant reflects the city of Istanbul and shapes its cuisine around the city's centuries-old history, seasonal cycles, and ingredients from its local region, drawing strength from its roots and traditions; And represents AKM of which it is a part - with ceramic panels, wood and copper wall coverings and motifs of modular materials.
