‘Marina di Ventimiglia’ is an urban regeneration project for the city of Ventimiglia, lead by Marina Development Corporation (‘MDC’), with the purpose to revive the Riviera dei Fiori, through a modern integrated community and destination, near the waterfront of the western Ligurian city. Marina di Ventimiglia, which requires an overall investment of € 220 million, will be developed on a total land area of 65,000 square meters, with an overall built-up area of over 30,000 square meters. The Marina di Ventimiglia project aims to regenerate key areas within the city of Ventimiglia, in particular the waterfront area facing the new marina and its old town center. Through acquiring and developing a mixed-use scheme, including prime residential, hospitality and a plurality of food & beverage outlets, it seeks to fill a market gap in the high segment of the demand, both locally and internationally. The regeneration programme has been extended to include also Borgo del Forte Campus (situated in the Nervia area) to cater for an integrated community, extra urban standards and required index of buildable area. The master plan comprises of: - 75 residential branded apartments; - 25 hotel keys five star and 50 serviced apartments; - 6,000 sqm of street retail - International School. The urban regeneration project will be developed through the following pillars: - Borgo del Forte: the residential and hospitality component of the waterfront community, including lobby, security gate, amenities (gym, spa, changing rooms) and pool. It will provide a mix of hotel keys (25) and serviced apartments (50) - part of a rental program directly managed by the hotel. These apartments will be sold out to individuals that will not be eligible for residency. The mix will also include 75 branded residential units. - Borgo del Forte Campus: approximately 30 thousand square meters of surface area that will be completely redeveloped into an important multifunctional complex. Its purpose is to attract, educate and entertain the public, sportsmen and tourists. It has been designed to fit strategically and organically into the overall plan to revitalize the city of Ventimiglia. This new high-quality offering is detailed in the Marina di Ventimiglia Masterplan. - “La Rocca” and “Club Italia”: La Rocca will be rebuilt to accommodate a F&B facility, which will be a flagship experience for the destination. Club Italia will be enhancing the leisure experience as a ‘community gateway’. Positioned at sea level, it will be welcoming visitors arriving from the bridge over the Roya river, as well as from the motorway. It will be designed to offer the City a newly built F&B facility and will also include convenient shops. Further small retail stores in the old town will complete and help define the ‘fabric’ of the urban regeneration project in Ventimiglia.
