The hotel is located in Zhangwu Town, Anji County, Zhejiang Province, adjacent to the former residence of Wu Changshuo, an artist during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. The area is rich in natural resources, with mountains and rivers surrounding it, as well as lush bamboo forests, fragrant tea gardens, and winding paths. The project's challenge is to create an appealing and unique resort destination in the area. The strategy is to delve deeply into the local culture, highlight the hotel building's regional customs and cultural heritage, and emphasize the quality experience of high-end hotels in the details. Inspired by bamboo and fans, which are both Chinese natural resources and cultural carriers derived from tradition, the design focuses on bamboo culture and natural qualities as the main concept in order to provide an immersive bamboo and nature experience tour. Functionally, the hotel has 162 rooms, including 7 different types of rooms and villa suites, as well as a variety of amenities. Furthermore, the bamboo culture exhibition hall, fan-making experience hall, and other supporting facilities with local historical culture are organically combined with them to create an all-age complex that integrates natural healthcare, sports, parent-child interaction, cultural experience, leisure and entertainment. The terrain is complicated and the plot's property is unique with the scope of each land unit in a point-shaped of varying proportions, which not only is a challenge for the architecture design, but also allow the resort to be completely immersed in nature, and the tourists to be soothed by it. The design is always respectful of the original environment and minimizes the environmental harm caused by building operations of industrial light materials, as well as considering the construction conditions on the mountain site. The volumes are floating on the site as much as possible to allow the greatest views of the inside. Making this ecological resort hotel, the design rearranges the building kinds and spatial functions, as well as expertly resolve the terrain height difference through the interpretation of the shape. The buildings merge perfectly with its environment thanks to its organic architectural shape. It is dedicated to providing guests with an intimate and comfortable atmosphere in which to explore the benefits of plant communities and natural culture.
