Reddymade designed a colorfully stylish space for Casacor / Miami, in the spectacular penthouse at Rise in Brickell City Centre by Swire Properties with sweeping views of downtown Miami. The concept skillfully places works by luminaries such as Oscar Niemeier, the Campana Brothers, Studio Nucleo, Richard Prince, Andy Warhol, Hechizoo and Helene Binet, alongside works by rising stars in the design world in a colorfully animated 1,800 square foot space with stunning city and expansive city views. The design uses color strategically both to create a soothing backdrop, and an animating focus in the spectacular space.
You are welcomed by a bright Andy Warhol rug and directed into the space around a custom kinetic installation by emerging Dutch designers Alissa + Nienke .
The dining area features a Richard Prince rug (courtesy of Blue Train) with a free-form design informed by a series of numerical collages, a Primitive dining table from Studio Nucleo paired with their Blue Lapis and Primitive stools, (courtesy of Ammann Gallery). Custom painted acrylic benches by Nicole Ackerman complete the tableau. The space is set against a backdrop of Aura wallpaper by Calico, illuminated by lighting designed by the illustrious Johanna Grawunder.
Delineating the dining and living areas is a brilliantly hued wall inspired by Pritzker Prize winning Mexican architect Luis Barragan, with a lacy black Huixcolotla console by Mexican design studio Ad Hoc, paired with the photographs by Helene Binet of Zaha Hadid’s Maxxi museum (courtesy of Ammann Gallery), and candlesticks by Kelly Lamb (courtesy of R and Company). A seating area with vintage velvet chairs by Carlo Hauner with a table by Martin Eisler for the iconic Brazilian furniture company Forma creates a breakout space.
The living area holds its own against the backdrop of expansive views with stellar works by icons of Brazilian design. A cloud like Bolotas sofa by the Campana Brothers (courtesy of Friedman Benda gallery) is paired with an iconic chaise and sofa by Oscar Niemeier and a bench and side tables by Sergio Rodrigues, (courtesy of R and Company), grounded by a brilliant rug woven of pure copper by the Colombian design studio Hechizoo (courtesy of Cristina Grajales Gallery). The arrangement is centered around a graphic colorful coff ee table designed by artist Richard Woods (courtesy of Friedman Benda gallery)
The centerpiece of the kitchen and breakfast area is a 15 foot long artwork centered over the island designed by acclaimed graphic artist Cey Adams, whose work was recently featured in the National Museum of the African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. A glass Niemeier table is paired with a glass chandelier by Jeff Zimmerman and playfully countered with faux fur seats (courtesy of Maison Atia).
The terraces feature colorful pieces by Dedon on houndstooth outdoor rugs making them livable and beautiful.
