Küçükyalı Business Park is located in Turkey, on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, on an important transport route E5 highway. The Project was designed with the idea of providing a work environment that seamlessly connects with social activities and green spaces which results in a new concept, ‘business campus’. The Project becomes prominent among Istanbul office buildings with respect to its large floor spaces and horizontal office block character. The fundamental constraint of the design is the topography of the land, which has level differences. Open spaces are determined by the vistas, and spaces, which follow inclination, offer alternative outdoor experiences. The northeast side is designated as the main entrance, located on the highest level, called as ‘business plaza’, covered with a large overhang. This space is oriented towards the sea view, and the natural topography creates terraced gardens between the two blocks. The lower level plaza is a living social plaza with stylish restaurants and cafes for both office and neighborhood users. The terracing varies the style of offices and create alternative workspaces. The façades feature floor-to-ceiling glass joinery provides an affordable alternative to conventional curtain wall systems. The façade design aims to make optimum use of sunlight, and the sunshades are designed accordingly, offering both visual diversity and functionality. In the context of sustainability; Light control, views and the use of materials for the project make a great contribution to win LEED PLATINUM certification, a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. RönesansBiz Küçükyalı is the first office campus that won this certification in Turkey.
