It is one of the first company to provide its customers, in addition to photovoltaic modules, with a device that ensures high standards of protection of the modules.
This is the MPS system (Module Protection System) that allows to disable the generation of energy from each module in case of fire. Realized in collaboration with the Swiss company Esmolo Ltd, the MPS system disables the generation of energy from each module in case of fire, it controls the temperature of the system and protects the modules from damages caused by lightning.
The current ministerial discussions on the encouragement of photovoltaic will lead to a drastic reduction of photovoltaic system installed on the ground and a considerable increase in installation of modules covering the roofs of industrial buildings. Inside the industrial buildings, in facts, take often place activities subject to C.P.I. (fire prevention certificate).
On May 26, 2010 the Fire Department issued the circular letter ref. 5158 ”Guide for installation of photovoltaic system” recommending that the PV systems in activities subject to fire prevention inspections by the Fire Department are equipped with a disconnecting device under load, operated by remote control placed in a marked and accessible location so as to secure every part of the electrical system within the fire compartment, also to the photovoltaic generator .From the point of view of safety, is impossible to put the system out of tension in presence of sunlight, where the ends of the strings of photovoltaic modules, continue to be always present in high voltage direct current.
Thanks to a collaboration with the Swiss company Esmolo Ltd, Brandoni Solare found a solution to this problem. The MPS system consists of an intelligent electronic integrated inside the junction box installed in the module and it allows to control the temperature of it. If you exceed the limits set in the system, the electronic can short-circuit the electronic module.
The MPS system has another important feature, it protects the modules from overvoltages and damages caused by lightning.
The system can be installed, on request, in every module produced by Brandoni Solare Spa.
