MIPIM 2015

MIPIM 2015
By Editorial Staff -

The 2015 edition of MIPIM took place in Cannes from 10th to 13th March. In 2014, visitor number increased and 2015 was no different.

As every year, MIPIM brought together the key segments in international real estate (business, residential, shopping, healthcare, sports, logistics and industrial). It offers a key opportunity to learn about many development projects and a unique chance to get in contact with investors, developers, project designers and local authorities from the 89 countries at the event this year. The number of North Americans is on the rise, with a US pavilion and a Canadian one.

The four-day event was filled with conferences, meetings and seminars on a host of topics (e.g. asset classes, cities, the digital revolution, finance and investment, etc.) and special focus sessions on geographical areas, global real estate and innovation.

As usual, the event not only included the working side, but also the MIPIM Awards ceremony. This is a great opportunity for project designers from all over the world to showcase their work. There were ten categories nominated for the award: hotels and tourism resorts, industrial and logistics developments, innovative green buildings, offices and business developments, refurbished buildings, residential developments, shopping centres, urban regeneration projects, future projects and future mega projects.

The international jury was chaired by Barbara Knoflach and presented the special award to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which was built in London for the 2012 Olympic Games. It was designed by Erect Architects with LUC landscape architect and James Corner Field Operations with Make Architects. The People’s Choice Award went to Oxygen Eco-Tower, a 75-storey residential block, designed by CMR.
