Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects’s experience in architecture, interior design, and infrastructure spans numerous projects, comprising educational, commercial, industrial, and residential designs, as well as building restoration and landscape architecture.

Today, Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects has offices in Barcelona, Shanghai, and Paris, and works internationally, with numerous new projects in Europe, China, Taiwan, and elsewhere. Constantly growing and developing, the firm’s work environment is multicultural and full of aspiring young architects who work side by side with project directors to give shape to new, innovative ideas and designs.

From day one, the practice has had an open approach, centered on exploration, experimentation, and high levels of conceptual thought.

In recognition of the studio’s work, Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects received the Catalan National Architecture Prize in 2002, the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2005, the Spanish National Architecture Prize in 2006, the City of Barcelona Prize in both 2005 and 2009, FAD awards in 2000, 2003, and 2007, and WAF awards in 2010 and 2011.

Always sensitive to context, the poetic architecture of Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects can be seen as a melting pot of ideas, and a meeting point between tradition and innovation, in which each project is both a challenge and a new opportunity for learning. The studio’s philosophy hinges on changing the environment by observing and respecting the site, its history, and its culture.

Every project grows out of the specific needs of the client, with innovation then emerging from the design process. This approach is combined with strong technical and management skills to provide a personalized, cost-effective service.

The firm’s current projects include Shanghai’s Fudan University School of Management, office towers in Xiamen and Taichung, the HafenCity public spaces in Hamburg, Clichy-Montfermeil metro station in Paris, and the central subway station in Naples, among others.
