Villa dell’Orizzonte

Brass Windows Framing Pictorial Views

By Editorial Staff -
Secco Sistemi has participated in the project

Nestled in the lush landscape of Scopello, Sicily, Villa dell’Orizzonte’s bold yet minimalist architecture does not attempt to hide human intervention – it enhances it and draws the viewer’s attention to the residence. Consisting of a series of interlocking volumes, some with pitched roofs and others flat, the structure forms a unified whole that blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Built on two levels above ground and a basement, Villa dell’Orizzonte embodies the symbiotic relationship between man and nature, enriching the environment with breathtaking views and a variety of outdoor spaces. Seen from inside the residence, the landscape resembles a masterpiece of painting. The windows, which feature Secco Sistemi’s OS2 75 refined window and door frames, allow light and panoramic views to flood into the home. On the ground floor, there is a spacious double height living area, a kitchen, a study and an ensuite bedroom. Meanwhile, the upper floor houses the bedrooms, including the master bedroom with three openings to the outside, offering captivating views of the sky, olive groves and the sea. In this scenario, Secco Sistemi’s OS2 75 window and door frames proved to be a versatile solution, able to meet the esthetic and functional requirements of the project, particularly important given that the local area has quite a harsh climate. The windows and doors, carefully crafted, frame the glazed portions of the villa with discretion and consistency of architectural language, ensuring high thermal and acoustic insulation performance and allowing the observer to marvel at the plentiful views. With essential, dark profiles that contrast with the white walls of the house, the OS2 thermal break membrane surrounds the unseen perspectives that open onto the panorama, like a frame of a painting, with reduced thickness and balanced proportions that recall the iron window and door frames of yesteryear. Available in more than 40 different profiles, this series is extremely versatile, able to transform its appearance through different combinations of materials and finishes, making it perfect even in historical settings.
