The new SIT headquarters in Padua, designed by Giuseppe Tortato Architetti, merges urban regeneration with new construction for a flexible and dynamic work environment.

Spanning 20,000 sq. m, the project revitalized 10,000 sq. m of pre-existing warehouses and laboratories. At the core of the project stands the new SIT Lab, an architectural landmark defined by its sinuous, flowing forms – home to the research and development department, the driving force behind SIT.

The interiors are the result of a collaboration between Giuseppe Tortato Architetti and Estel, which curated the furnishings for the main areas. They were conceived with a strong focus on employee well-being and comfort. In this paradigm, the spatial design breaks away from rigid geometries, embracing organic forms that shy away from straight lines and right angles to foster a fluid, dynamic environment tailored for hybrid, flexible and collaborative work. Estel played a key role in shaping many of the spaces, including the reception – where shades of light blue and teal define the project’s color identity – along with the work areas, break zones, executive offices and the boardroom. The focal point of this last space is a custom-designed conference table, crafted with premium finishes and integrated technology in the base of the structure. In the executive offices, the furnishings were carefully coordinated with the boardroom finishes to produce a refined and cohesive aesthetic.

To delineate interior spaces while maintaining visual continuity and maximizing natural light, Estel provided a total of 1,000 sq. m of single- and double-glazed partitions, customized in varying heights and angles. Set within a dense, structured grid of steel beams and columns, these partitions create unexpected, expansive spatial compositions that give the project a distinctive identity.

The furnishings are tailored to the needs of a contemporary, dynamic office, designed with individual work habits in mind. To support this flexibility, 200 Sit and Stand workstations were installed, allowing employees to seamlessly adapt their working posture as the day progresses.
