True to its name, Plug & Light unites the plug and light source, making installing or uninstalling lights practically child’s play. Ideal for homes or hotels, this solution offers remarkable versatility for lighting design and use. Insta developed the system; as the parent firms of Insta, Gira and JUNG have employed the technology in their switch ranges. Brumberg is the first luminaire manufacturer to present 15 decorative Plug & Light systems that can be combined with the light socket in the JUNG switch design. At the latest edition of Light & Building in Frankfurt, these options were featured together. At the core of Plug & Light is the innovative connection between the plug socket and the light source, using a simple magnet. A wall or ceiling-mounted socket can be used for any device in the range, with the option to easily change the light without having to invest in costly building work. Once installed, the lights can be rotated through 360° to create variable lighting configurations to match the needs of the moment or the changing uses of a flexible space. At the same time, the light can be dimmed to get the desired light intensity and color. At just 12V, the system is safe for children, with the added option of a special dismantling protection solution. Jung has adopted covers and switch designs from its LS 990 and LS zero ranges - available in this project in alpine white, black, coated aluminum and coated stainless steel - and its A series, in alpine white, black and aluminum. The four light types developed by Insta for Plug & Light are available in the same colors, opening up a wealth of combinations. All Plug & Light products will hit the markets in October 2018.
