Elegance and Comfort of Transparency
Nestling near the south-eastern shores of Lake Garda and only a short distance from the charming village of Lazise, the Quellenhof Luxury Resort has a sense of refined luxury in which the architecture draws heavily on the stunning natural surrounds that so beautifully frame the resort.
The design by Architekten Marx/Ladurner, working with O+T Architetti Olivieri e Turcato, deliberately prioritized the seamless insertion of the complex into the landscape through the careful choice of materials and the internal/external dynamics.
The material solidity of the stone cladding for the façades contrasts with the transparency and lightness of the glazed elevations that help create an osmotic relationship between the hotel interiors and the surrounding park where greenery abounds, broken only by the various resort pools. To produce these soaring façades, the architects turned to Schüco for its façade systems and windows to ensure the targets for visual permeability, interior well-being and accessibility were all achieved in a crisp, minimalist design.
The Schüco ASE 67 PD panoramic sliding system in aluminum provides flexibility as different door types can be used with two types of frame. In this case, the 57 mm option was selected, with the thin profiles, joined by a central section that is a mere
31 mm, creating an “all glass” look that allows natural light to flood into the interiors.
The floor threshold is level, following the dictates of universal design standards and facilitating access for children, the elderly and people in wheelchairs.
The desire to create direct contact between the interior, the exterior and the surrounding landscape is further enhanced with the use of the Schüco AOC 50 façade system in aluminum, which also guarantees top-notch insulation performance.
Schüco AWS 75.SI+ aluminum windows, with Schüco’s SimplySmart technology, and Schüco ADS 75.SI aluminum doors were used in the guest rooms and suites, partly because their incredible insulation levels make them a particularly good choice for a hotel.
