Contemporary Living: Design and Technology
This villa, near Ancona in central Italy, has an eclectic, at times eccentric, style as part of the owners’ intentional plan to have a house that reflects their passions and predilections. Designed by architect Michele Della Vecchia, this multifaceted home plays with solids and voids, opacity and transparency in an interweaving of sharp, clear lines, contrasting colors and cutting-edge technology. The crisp, decisive rooms are decorated with artworks from modern and pop-art currents, including prints by Marco Lodola, a half-bust by Jan Siwek and pieces by Kspersee and Tim Tadder.
Design is clearly important, with Vimar’s buttons, controls and home automation devices a key part of the overall effect. Framed by metal plates, products from the Eikon Exé line are integrated into the rooms with rigorous lines and square corners in two finishes: matt white and anthracite gray.
Vimar By-me Plus home automation was installed to optimize the management of all the internal environments, with both local and remote operational options: a touch screen provides a central point to control everything, in each room with home automation devices; alternatively, a specific app can be used to manage devices remotely. The air conditioning, lighting, sound, video entry system and burglar alarm can all be controlled, but adopting an integrated rather than independent approach. For example, temperature probes provide the heating and cooling systems with information to help produce the perfect interior climate.
Vimar also provided the By-alarm burglar detection system, a very sophisticated option that guarantees home security by virtue of its integration with By-me Plus. The result is that Made in Italy and smart systems become another fundamental feature in creating this villa’s soul.
