Palazzo Ducati is a new residential building at Fidenza, blending traditional building styles and new technology to ensure comfort and wellbeing, safety and energy saving. Besides using renewable energy (solar panels assist in producing hot water for the bathroom, while supports and connections are all in place for a photovoltaic system), the building is equipped for computerized integrated management of all its technological systems. Underfloor heating and cooling, a dehumidifying system for living areas and special care with noise insulation are comfort factors serving the various apartments. The same attention has gone into choosing materials which meet high standards of performance and looks. To clad the façade the choice fell on Prodema’s Prodex panels which are cut to fit the loggia walls and thus cover the four corner portions of the building. Prodex panels have the versatility and good looks of wood, while a patented formula based on paper and resin ensures they last in time and remain efficient. Prodex has a 10-year guarantee and is treated to withstand UV rays and atmospheric or chemical agents. Using Prodex panels on the outside of ventilated façading shows off the warm colour effects of the wood to great advantage, and extends the creative scope of the architect.
