Health, Collaboration and Well-Being

Originally designed in 1989 in Castellarano, the headquarters of Fiandre – the ceramic surfaces brand of Iris Ceramica Group – is characterized by alternating glass panels and exposed brick façades. The building recently underwent an extensive interior restyling led by Iosa Ghini Associati. The nearly 2,400 sq. m, three-story headquarters was redesigned with a focus on employee well-being, emphasizing key themes such as light, openness, sustainability and health. With these principles in mind, the workspace was effectively transformed into a living space that seamlessly blends esthetics with functionality and offers customized solutions to meet every need.

On the raised ground floor, visitors enter the reception area, where the main desk and two elegant, symmetrical curved walls – that have SapienStone surfaces with Ceramica 4D, a cutting-edge technology developed by Iris Ceramica Group – add depth and dynamism to the space. The contemporary esthetic is further enhanced by the design of the adjacent wall paneling. The cafeteria is on this level as well, marked by a clean, minimalist design that is achieved by concealing the service section of the bar area behind a custom-decorated ceramic wall. The basement level has another space specifically for relaxing and socializing – called Area Club – while the work spaces, including meeting rooms and offices, are spread across all three levels. These spaces are defined by the extensive use of see-through elements that allow natural light to diffuse evenly across the area, creating a sense of openness while keeping each room sound-proofed and private. Custom furniture and decorative textures in Marsala Red contribute to the esthetic of the offices, meeting rooms and even the cafeteria. The second floor houses the executive and presidential offices, as well as a delightful area decorated by a mural by artist Becha, specially created for Iris Ceramica Group and printed on slabs using the innovative Design Your Slabs technology.

To enhance the health and sustainability of every level in the building, eco-ceramic Active Surfaces® were used for the flooring. These surfaces offer antibacterial, antiviral, anti-pollution, anti-odor and self-cleaning properties. The colors were chosen based on the function of each space, ranging from Pietra Grey Maximum and Seminato Beige to Premium White Maximum and Pietra Grey Maximum. Thanks to the patented technology of these ceramics, they have been seamlessly integrated into key furniture pieces throughout the building – not only for the bar and restrooms, but also the desks and other essential elements. For example, to further enhance hygiene, the desks feature SapienStone Platinum White Active Surfaces® porcelain stoneware, with Hypertouch® controls elegantly integrated into the tabletops.
