Deutsche Bank Headquarters
The redevelopment project for Deutsche Bank’s headquarters and main office in Milan focused on one of the three blocks that make up the entire complex, originally designed by Valle Architetti Associati. The goal was to update the spaces to meet the changing needs of hybrid work, creating more adaptable environments that not only foster collaboration but also improve employee well-being.
To ensure uninterrupted business, the project was divided into phases, with work areas segmented accordingly. Coima Image oversaw the project and managed construction supervision, while the General Contracting division of Coiver Group carried out the work. Founded in 1977 and based in Cormano (near Milan) and Rome, Coiver Group is an Italian company specializing in dry construction systems, interior finishes and the redevelopment of office buildings, shopping centers and hotels.
The building was fully reconfigured and modernized, integrating office spaces with support and relaxation areas while prioritizing natural light, acoustic comfort and sustainability. To minimize the embedded carbon emissions and align with circular economy principles, low-impact materials were used, and existing elements, such as suspended ceilings and raised floors, were repurposed. Double partition walls from Ferlegno, a long-established Milanese company and part of Coiver Group, helped improve the natural light, contributing to a more comfortable working environment.
The open-plan work areas have a neutral color palette, while the central support areas are outfitted in bold, vibrant colors.
The new drywall partitions in the central areas were clad with oak paneling, to enhance the overall esthetic of the project. Custom furnishings, also produced by Ferlegno, complete the design and are present in both common areas and bathrooms. The latter in particular have a very refined finish with colored enamel coatings.
The project placed particular emphasis on the acoustics, incorporating innovative solutions to achieve optimal auditory comfort. Additionally, a photovoltaic system was installed on the roof, contributing to improved energy sustainability.
Coiver Group delivered tailored engineering services, working closely with the client’s consultants to tackle the project’s complex technical challenges. This collaboration ensured construction feasibility and compliance with the timeline. Indeed, the design and construction process, from initial concept to on-site completion, reflects Coiver Group’s guiding philosophy: “From Concept To Reality”.
Coiver Group companies involved in the project were Coiver Contract for the dry construction systems and interior finishes, Ferlegno and Coiver Sign & Color for painting and wallpaper installation.
