EGGER’S PANELS AND LAMINATES

Egger is a full-range supplier for the furniture industry, interior design, wood construction and wood-based flooring industries. Products are found in many areas of private and public life, including: kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, offices, hotels and shops. One of the best examples of this is a bathroom furnishing project in Oberndorf, in the Kitzbühel district of Austria. Despite being quite a small space, the material choices and combinations used here are exceptionally effective. The subtle, but definite contrasts between brushed textures and velvety, opaque surfaces create an elegant, suggestive room. The front panels for the drawers were clad with PerfectSense Matt MDF panels to create a warm, velvety surface that combines beautifully with the wall behind clad in a ST9 Smoothtouch Matt layered panel. This combination produces a sense of uniformity that is enhanced by the warm U702 Grey cashmere color used for both sets of paneling. The sink countertop was clad in ST38 Feelwood Pinegrain, a laminate with a deep brushed texture that, in this case, was selected in H3406 anthracite mountain larch. This is a very tactile addition to the bathroom furniture, physically linking the wall with the drawers and creating a key chromatic feature that breaks up the otherwise dominant use of white in the bathroom. The dark black taps also contrast appealingly with these color choices.
