Egger’s headquarters, on the edge of the mountain resort of Sankt Johann in Tirol, has been extended with the addition of a new office building in front of the manufacturing buildings. The four-storey building was designed by Bruno Moser and has 250 workstations that look out either onto the surrounding landscape or the full-height central hall that is flush with natural light coming in through the façade and the glazed roof. Many of Egger’s own products were used, from the pre-built modular construction system to the furnishings and interior finishings, turning these offices into a display of the possible applications of the company’s wares. The customised interior carpentry required the involvement of barth Innenausbau, which was chosen because of the company’s experience, reliability and the quality of its work. In the entrance hall, barth created the reception area, where a wall of milled panels placed horizontally forms the background for a 6m-long reception desk with three parts. The ceiling is clad, for the entire length of the hall, in shiny white panels. The central courtyard section is characterised by the shapes and bright red of the “Satellite”, a curved folding screen rising over 2.5 m with 11 shelves divided into 27 rows to make 297 pigeon holes open on both sides. barth also created the coloured blocks that help enliven the hall, the cloakroom, the partition walls and the tables in the client meeting rooms as well as, in the training section, the console and tables for staff. For the office area, barth created all the furnishings and the partition walls, including customised furniture and wall units.
