Lega del Filo d’Oro National Center
The Lega del Filo d’Oro national center, designed by Guidarini & Salvadeo (masterplan and architectural project) with termostudi and located in Osimo, in the province of Ancona, is the culmination of a multi-phase project that brought together all the Association’s facilities, which were previously scattered across various places, in a single location, improving the quality and accessibility of services for people who are deaf-blind and have multiple sensory impairments.
Spread across eight new buildings and a restored former farmhouse, the entire complex integrates hospitality with efficiency. Despite the complexity, the architects optimized the layout of these numerous structures by strategically arranging the volumes along cardinal axes and connecting them with internal or underground pathways. A key focus of the project was to create a welcoming environment with excellent energy efficiency and innovative structural solutions. T2D, as the technical sponsor and supplier, played a crucial role in this regard. The company, known for its high-quality brick building systems that offer superior interior and exterior comfort, provided Tris® curtain wall system for this project. It features pre-assembled hollow blocks with Neopor insulating panels, ensuring excellent thermal performance (0.250 W/m²K) and sound insulation (54 dB). For the horizontal structures, T2D provided over 25,000 sq. m of precast reinforced concrete slabs, which were used for spans of over 8.5 m. The use of insulating, environmentally friendly materials, renewable energy sources such as heat pumps and photovoltaics, and the careful design of shading and building orientation – each building has a south-facing main façade and is seamlessly integrated into the sloping terrain – have significantly reduced the complex’ energy requirements and consequently its maintenance and operating costs.
The Lega del Filo d’Oro national center, with a built area of approximately 24,000 sq. m, complemented by an equal area of green space and a total volume of nearly 100,000 cu. m, stands out for its innovative approach, evident both in its structural and design solutions and in the comprehensive care services it offers. The complex includes a range of facilities such as rehabilitation areas, specialized health services, intensive care and diagnostic centers, providing a holistic solution that is meticulously designed to meet a wide range of needs for patients and their families.
