Next to the bustling Porta Garibaldi train station, a vibrant hub where old-world charm meets modern wonders, stands the imposing building that serves as the headquarters of Axa Assicurazioni. Elegantly integrated into its surroundings, this impressive structure is characterized by an expansive glass façade. Adding to the overall allure is a graceful corner tower, specifically designed to create visual harmony with the iconic UniCredit Tower nearby. In fact, the transformative vision for the building, spearheaded by GaS Studio, sought to enhance the architecture by seamlessly weaving it into the local building fabric, while prioritizing optimal energy efficiency and sustainability.
The 980 Signature Omnitex systems used in this project proved to be crucial in ensuring the comfort of the workers and optimizing the brightness of the rooms. The building itself rises 11 levels above ground, including a mezzanine level, and has four basement levels, all providing plenty of space for the offices, meeting rooms and other facilities that serve more than 800 employees daily.

Due to the expansive glass surfaces of the building, it was imperative to find high performance blinds that were both efficient and user friendly. This led to the selection of omnitex-sis-rulmot001 motorized blinds for several rooms, complemented by the timeless functionality of omnitex-sis-rulcat002 chain roller blinds. Embracing the transparency of glass and other materials, Omnitex’s blinds with thermal reflective Verosol SilverScreen fabric seamlessly integrate and provide an important means of regulating heat and natural light. They also serve as the ideal shading solution for several spaces, including the prominent glass tower at the top of the building, ensuring optimal comfort and ambience throughout. This technical solution, using a fiberglass fabric with PVC-coated yarn, together with the other measures taken, contributed positively to the building obtaining LEED Gold environmental certification, which attests to the high energy performance standards that the Axa Assicurazioni headquarters meets.
