Sober elegance at an exclusive residence in Tehran

Dark oak hardwood floors, softly-colored upholstered furniture, matte white lacquered wooden doors and bronzed finished touches make up the sober and elegant style that architect and designer Hadi Teherani used in his design for the luxury apartments at Kamran Street N°4 in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Completed in 2018, the building is located in the exclusive residential neighborhood of Fereshteh, in the northern part of town. Offering floor space of some 8,000 sq. m, the building has ten levels above ground plus four basement levels. Hadi Teherani Architects, an international firm headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, oversaw the entire project, from architecture to interiors.

The residential complex’s three-dimensional-like façade is made out of travertine, with window frames and sunscreens in anodized aluminum. The stone-based approach is echoed in the ground floor lobby, where it dialogues with pools of water to create a welcoming and relaxing space that immediately enshrouds residents in a peaceful atmosphere. Enclosed by glass walls, the reception and the zone furnished with upholstered seats and low tables were conceived to look like islands, floating upon the water’s surface.

The building features 18 residential units of different types and sizes. Most of the floors are split up into two spacious apartments, each with three bedrooms. Lofts are smaller in size, while duplexes are larger and arranged over two levels. The top floor of the building is entirely occupied by a penthouse, with a rooftop garden.

The residences benefit from a number of services: a concierge, some 50 parking spaces distributed on the first three underground floors, and further parking spaces set aside for leisure and relaxation on the fourth basement level. The building has an indoor swimming pool with a relaxation area, sauna and jacuzzi, gym and a private cinema. The pool flooring echoes the travertine façade; indirect lighting via groove-mounted lamps lends the space an intimate and relaxing feel; and the 24-m long pool sparkles with reflections from the mirrored ceiling. These same finishes are applied to the gym’s floor and ceiling, with the exception of the area reserved for yoga, which is floored with parquet carpeting in the same herringbone pattern as the apartments.

All accommodations enjoy excellent natural lighting through floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a 10-m long south-facing terrace. Another distinctive design feature in the building is its internal doors, which are over 3 m high and made from matte white lacquered wood. Custom designed by Teherani himself, the kitchens offer plenty of worktop space and feature a breakfast island. Deploying a soft color palette in contrast with the dark oak flooring, the living rooms feature oversized sofas and a fireplace.

The apartments were laid out to maximize the amount of space dedicated to entertainment and relaxation, with meticulous attention to detail and a choice of modern, elegant finishes that stand out for their high quality.
