Relaxing time for skiers in the new architecture of Studio Lemay
Relaxing time and contemplation, in the new Olympus for skiers and snowboarders in Montreal, Canada.
Landscape and architecture find their balance in the structure designed by Studio Lemay. Located on the top of the promontory, the Chalet is perfectly integrated with the snowy landscape that surrounds it; even from inside, visitors can continue to enjoy the wonderful view thanks to large windows that run along the entire perimeter of the building.
The white color and the shape modeled on the slope lines of Monte Brome mean that the structure is mixed with the ski slopes and the surrounding area. The structure is made of natural wood, which makes the environment warm and welcoming for skiers. The transparency of the perimeter windows lightens the structure and promotes the effect of continuity between inside and outside. At night, thanks to the study of external lighting, the Chalet becomes a point of reference for those who admire the top of the mountain from the valley.
