Çayırova Bus Garage and maintenance area is located at the borders of industrial zone. The new facility should not only provide parking and a maintenance area for the buses, but also a relaxation and resting space for the drivers. The site is surrounded with trees which also provide a natural barrier for the surrounding. The administrative building is located in close relation with the entrance where the drivers and officials are able to access easily both from the facility and park area. Exposed concrete and brick are used in the facades of this single floor building which provide an harmoneous integrity with the environment.
The site is located at the borders of industrial zone and surrounded with trees. The trees are creating a green barrier with the surrounding neighbourhood. All the trees are protected and used as a border between the administrative and maintenance buildings and the surrounding roads and plots. The level difference in the site, orientation and the climatic conditions defined the site plan layout. The facility will be constructed for the green buses and all the amenities within the bus garage are designed to be environmentally sustainable.

The water that will be used in the cleaning of buses will be reused after water treatment. Electricity will be provided by the solar panels. In the construction of the buildings local materials are preferred. Çayırova Bus Garage project is designed as a complex including Entrance Control Building, Administrative Building, Fuel Station, Pressure Center, Vehicle Washing Station, 91 bus parking spaces and 10 staff parking areas. The project also includes areas where all parked buses can be refueled, washed as well as relaxation and resting area for the drivers. The facility is designed as a multi-functional sustainable complex where the necessary energy is provided by solar panels and dirty water is reused for the cleaning of the buses. A design approach that prioritizes environmental conditions and sustainability has been implemented.
Çayırova Bus Garage and maintenance area will be a new hub for the green buses of the municipality where the environmental concerns are taken into consideration.
UMM - Uludag Architecture and Consultant is an architecture, engineering and consultancy company offering architectural, engineering, planning, feasibility studies, supervision, construction consultancy and management services in Turkey & abroad.
