Lazio Pavilion Vinitaly '24, a journey through the multiple territories of the region

The concept starts with the idea of taking a journey through the multiple territories of the Lazio region. Roman aqueducts furrow the land and run through the region, creating a visual continuity in the landscape. The aqueduct thus becomes a symbol of identity and reconnection of the region. In the project it is evoked by a series of suspended sheets that reproduce its silhouette. The stratigraphy with which the curtains recompose the arches of the aqueduct speak of lands with multiple connotations which, added together, create the unicity of each wine. The rhythm of the arches becomes the element of order in which to accommodate the producers. In this way, they can be represented not only in their own specificities, but in a broader design that exalts them as the vital force of a region.

The Pavilion is a temporary structure, installed for the Vinitaly event within the Verona Fiere exhibition centre. One of the objectives of the project was to raise the height of the pavilion so that it was in line with the surrounding buildings. The pavilion is located close to one of the main entrances of the trade fair, which is why special attention was given to the graphic design of the elevations.

The Lazio pavilion is the first to be seen when entering Veronafiere. Outside, the tensile structure is wrapped in sheets on which prints of an aqueduct on the long side and an ancient map on the two short sides stand out. Upon entering, one finds oneself in front of an imposing dark wooden counter where the region's excellent wines are collected. A large wine cellar of excellence, with the best wines in the pavilion, welcomes visitors by emphasising the quality and variety of the region's wines. This is part of a larger structure, a 'central ship' with space for kitchens, reception areas and the tasting room that hosts the activities scheduled during the fair. The deep blue floor tells of the institutional identity of the Lazio Region, offering a comfortable support between the spaces. The different territories, the different specificities of a region so rich in landscapes, are told through the use of materials that alternate in tactile quality and colour. Finally, the 53 stands, marked by the vaults of the aqueduct above them, adapt in size to different configurations while maintaining the same square footage. The graphics, created by Pomilio Blumm, harmonise the spaces and help to orientate between them. The aqueduct becomes a guide for the visitor and a "shelter" for the companies that, under the ethereal vaults, find space to tell their stories in a collective with a strong spirit of sharing.

Lazio presents itself in Verona with a 2,000 m2 pavilion, innovative in terms of architectural, image and communication solutions, combined with new storytelling, designed to tell the story of the region and its wine-growing excellence in a new and captivating guise - Arsial website -
