The idea behind Casa Tao is to create a completely new space starting from a pre-existing structure in the middle of a natural area. It is a simple villa with typical features of Sicilian architecture, enriched with a touch of irony through geometries and essential elements. In this project natural forms, vegetation, gravel, Etna and the sea prevail, creating an interpretation that meets the needs of the clients, harmoniously blending nature and architecture.

Casa Tao is located in Castelmola, a picturesque village in Sicily, perched on a hill overlooking Taormina and offers breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea and Etna. The village maintains an authentic and traditional atmosphere, with a mix of medieval architecture and Sicilian influences. Despite being a very modern structure, Casa Tao integrates perfectly with the traditional architecture of the village. The stone facades and wrought iron details blend with the overall aesthetic of the place, maintaining authenticity and historical character. The elevated position of the village offers a continuous visual connection with the surrounding landscape, and the terraces and balconies of Casa Tao offer spectacular views, creating a direct link between the interior and the exterior.

When designing Casa Tao, a real ecological strategy was adopted.
The structure was designed according to the principles of bioclimatic design, thus adapting the project to the local climate in order to maximize energy efficiency.
The materials chosen are low impact and come from recycled sources, specifically all parts in glass, wood and steel are the result of a recovery and reuse put in place by specialized companies.
To maintain a constant temperature inside the house, controlled mechanical ventilation systems and environmentally friendly insulation materials.

Casa Tao is a unique residential project, designed to blend harmoniously with the surrounding nature, as a tailor-made dress for the landscape. Located in a privileged position, this house has been designed to enhance the relationship with the outside and the landscape. The large windows offer a spectacular panoramic view, allowing you to admire the beauty of the Sicilian natural environment.
The entire structure has been modeled on the basis of the territory in which it is located, with a subdivision of the spaces on several levels that follows the conformation of the ground. The layout of the rooms and common areas has been designed to maximize natural light and ensure a continuous connection with the outdoor environment.
One of the strengths of Casa Tao is the skilful use of local materials, which help to create a visual and tactile link with the landscape. The minimalist and modern design integrates perfectly with the natural elements.
The interiors of Casa Tao are characterized by a refined and functional design, with modern furnishings. The spaces have been organized to offer a fluid and harmonious living experience, where every detail has been carefully taken care of. The house offers a cozy and relaxing environment.

Casa Tao is an harmonious example of contemporary Sicilian architecture, with large windows that connect the interiors to the beautiful surrounding landscapes. The use of natural and sustainable materials, together with an elegant and functional design, creates a welcoming and serene environment, perfect for living in symbiosis with nature. The attention to detail and the choice of comfortable and high quality furniture makes this home unique and refined.

Curriculum

Studio Anna Polisano was founded in Catania in 2001 and deals with interior design, landscaping, renovation and construction in the residential, commercial, Ho.re.Ca. and retail sectors. The architectural approach is minimalist and characterized by the relationship between the volumes, by the strong contrasts of full and empty spaces, determining a linear style that emphasizes the materials, enhanced by the light, where space takes on the role of undisputed protagonist.
Moduslab is an architecture and interior design studio born from the ambition to make architecture perceived for the harmony of shapes and proportions, for the cleanliness of the lines and for the sense of balance that arises from this. Architecture is simplification and rationality. Moduslab approaches the definition of architecture in a transversal way, dealing with residential, commercial, tourist-accommodation and social architecture.
