The order of architecture and light represent two crucial design logics. Therefore, in this project's design, we aim to simplify and approach the essence of space, leaving the design to "light," enabling a free interaction between light, space, textures, and compositions. While light is intangible, the architectural structures and spaces that hold light are tangible.
Drawing inspiration from this concept, the project aspires to evoke an infinite state of mind within the constraints of limited space and tangible materials. It seeks to create a tranquil experiential space detached from urban clamor, providing opportunity to rediscover inner peace.
We believe that nature is the source of design inspiration. In this project, we drew on the concept of modernist architectural masters, where architecture, landscape, and interior design intertwine. The presence of the building is closely related to the surrounding landscape, and the formation of interior design is inseparable from the architecture, as they influence each other. When architecture and interior blend with nature, it in turn enhances nature and the city it resides in, elevating it to a new aesthetic height. We insist on incorporating the delicate connection between "people, nature, and space" into our designs.
The minimalist and eco-friendly use of materials, such as arched wood ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, imbuing the space with purity and authenticity. Extensive floor-to-ceiling glass windows blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor environments, creating a natural and open atmosphere. This openness not only enhances the spatial ambiance but also promotes energy efficiency and emission reduction.
The simplistic and comfortable design palette features a natural and fresh light color scheme, with minimal ornamentation. By simplifying the spatial structural system, the design extends the definition of spatial functions in multiple dimensions. The adaptable spatial experiences for meetings, forums, and fashion shows enhance functionality and utilization.
The catenary-shaped wooden dome compensates for the traditional ceiling design's inability to uniformly reflect light. The curved dome can diffuse light into the interior, allowing sunlight to be directed onto its surface and then reflected into various corners of the room, creating a more even interior illumination and softer light and shadow effects. The design of the dome visually elevates the ceiling height, enhances spatial transparency, and adds depth to space. The integration of light and structure creates a spatial tension that fosters a unique and exquisite spatial aesthetic.
Simple, comfortable, and adorned with a natural and fresh light color, the design eschews excessive ornamentation, showcasing the beauty of simplicity. The balance of form, color, and negative space ensures that each element feels indispensable within the interior, where understated elegance reign supreme.
By imbuing the space with subtle nuances in color, structure, texture, and more, the project not only introduces delicate variations but also allows the design to recede, embracing a return to nature. This approach enables individuals entering the space to experience the interplay of light and time. The concept of "leaving blank space" within the interior embodies architectural rationality and precision while pursuing spatial and perfection.
