The IVU TT is a world leader in the field of informatics applied to transports; in Italy they are aiming to improve the national railway net from a technology point of view.
It was therefore necessary conceive a space which could communicate, through its own design, the brand dynamic approach. The pretext was the conformation of the spaces where it was not possible - for the reduced height - to install a technical false ceiling that housed the electrical and mechanical systems functional to the offices.
Subsequently it was decided to design visible systems that recall the data-but also physical-flow, and that prefers curved walls to ensure greater spatial fluidity. [FDV1]retrofitting

IVU Traffic Technologies Italia srl headquarters are located inside a multitenant office building from the 70s in Via Cristoforo Colombo, an urban axis where the majority of the international brands are located.
The project relates in a direct way with the surrounding space thanks to the large windows that project the external space inside; the high floor that makes the whole environment particularly bright ensures that there is a continuous link between outside and inside.
The city and the vehicular flow of Via Cristoforo Colombo participate in the dynamic flows that are the basis of the design of the new offices.
The project was drawn up in line with the principles of environmental sustainability that are part of the AAvv_ce code of ethics.
The project works on the optimization of spaces and their organization in relation to the irradiation of the building, to ensure a saving of energy consumption thanks to artificial lighting and air conditioning in the work spaces.
The use of energy-efficient heat pump systems and a half-LED lighting system ensures the reduction of energy consumption.
The use of natural materials and the presence of vegetation within the spaces improves the level of healthiness of the workspaces making them - at the same time - more comfortable
The new headquarter of IVU TTI is characterized by an organic system that allows the interpenetration of the various work seamlessly, favouring communication and interaction. The project explores the new standards of work environments, with flexible and hybrid spaces, where production goes with the sense of community. Although there are some closed rooms, all the spaces communicate with each other through the use of transparent glass walls with rounded corners, that visually integrate the large surface area for open space activities. These characteristics allow to perceive the unity of the space as a fluid and interconnected system. Strengths are consequently the connection and path spaces, which can turn into rest areas: the so-called Green Area where you work or take a break, or the entrance space that transforms from a waiting area into a conference room/ events or an informal workplace, or the cafeteria, a place dedicated to conviviality. All this defines an environment without hierarchies, to which also contributes the use of uniformly distributed materials, neutral colors and the presence of green, elements that give the whole an atmosphere of balance and harmony. The white ceiling animated by the visible systems, tell the dynamic image of the company, the sound-absorbing materials of the floor and walls, the respect for the environment and attention to comfort. Dynamism and harmony represent in synthesis the strong characyters, equally present in space.
The new headquarter of IVU ITT is the result of a synergy between the company and the architecture firm: the desire for a space that could be simultaneously a place of exchange and creativity as well as a harmonious and serene workplace has been interpreted in a way that perfectly corresponds to our needs: not only is the new headquarters welcoming and functional, but it is also a contemporary place perfectly livable and comfortable, dynamic and balanced: it is our home overlooking the future!
AAvv creative engineering is an associated architectural practice specialized in the recovery and retrofitting of existing real estate, especially those with architectural historical value.
