Larrabee is a newly completed multi-farmly development project that stemmed from the growing need for sustainable urban living solutions in West Hollywood. The concept was developed through a collaborative effort between architects, city planning committee, and sustainability experts who aimed to create a co-living environment that fosters community and environmental responsibility. Inspiration was drawn from traditional courtyard housing, promoting natural light and airflow, while integrating modern materials like concrete, steel, and glass for durability and aesthetic appeal. The inclusion of ample amenities and outdoor spaces was guided by a desire to enhance the quality of life for residents, aligning with LEED Platinum standards for sustainability.
The project harmoniously integrates with the surrounding urban landscape of West Hollywood while enhancing its vibrancy. Situated near Santa Monica Boulevard, the development respects the dense urban fabric, contributing a modern yet contextual architectural presence. The interior courtyard design fosters a micro-community within the urban setting, allowing natural light and air to permeate the living spaces. The brise-soleil and rooftop terrace provide visual and environmental connectivity to the Hollywood Hills and cityscape.
