Götschele, a reinterpretation of the classic gabled roof

ASAGGIO

Located in the Brixen district of Millan, this residential complex takes the name and place of the old Götschelehof farm.

A key prerequisite for this project was the harmonious integration of the new building into the architectural context of the neighbourhood.

The complex is divided into two buildings, one facing west and the other south. The shapes of the roofs and surrounding buildings are taken up through a reinterpretation of the classic gabled roof, which like a ribbon seems to continue along the sides of the masonry, as well as by the honeycomb pattern visible on both sides. The internal access areas have been created along Via Plose, so as to safeguard the privacy of the residents.

The building ensures high performance in terms of energy saving.
These results have been achieved thanks to an efficient combination of materials and technologies: The exterior walls were insulated with rock wool, the roof was ventilated, controlled ventilation was used, photovoltaic panels were used, etc. The use of large windows ensures the right amount of light in the rooms without compromising the building's energy efficiency.

It obtained the A Nature Klimahouse certification.

A strong point is certainly the attempt to fit this new building into its existing context. Thanks to the architectural composition and the choice of dividing the volume into two forms linked by the glazed stairwell, it reflects the proportions of the context.

While the street front is closed off to protect against noise pollution, the opposite side with its large terraces ensures a great deal of light and an optimal view of the mountains and the village centre.
In keeping with the playful, minimalist form of the building, the materials also mark a reduction to the essentials with the choice of a mixture of washed plaster and finishing plaster.

Curriculum

ASAGGIO. The two architects met during their joint studies in Innsbruck and Florence. They graduated together with honors, obtaining the highest marks for their thesis on the railway area of Bolzano, under the supervision of Prof. Marino Moretti. In 2012 they founded the architecture studio ASAGGIO, acronym of the two names and literal expression of their philosophy, embodied by an aesthetic-architectural concept as contemporary as it is shrewd. A mutual inspiration which, through the many projects carried out together, has evolved into a common path called ASAGGIO. A turning point towards a new perspective on architecture, in which each project places the individual at the center. Love for design and creative passion go hand in hand with the desire to carry out each project to the highest quality standards. But the search for quality does not end with the choice of innovative materials and methods.
