The concept of the Meira TP project stems from the need to reuse an old rural building, typical of the mountain areas of Val Variata, in the municipality of Frassino. The idea is to preserve the original typological and structural characteristics of the rural building, integrating them with contemporary elements and modern comforts, indispensable for a tourist accommodation. This harmonious combination of tradition and innovation aims to create a welcoming environment that respects the historical heritage, while offering a comfortable and modern experience to visitors.

The Meira TP project is immersed in the Piedmontese woods of Val Variata, in the province of Cuneo. The relationship with the surrounding landscape is one of the fundamental cornerstones of the project. To further integrate the building with the outdoor space, a winter garden has been created that enhances the union between inside and outside. This glazed space allows you to enjoy the natural beauty throughout the year, creating a visual and functional continuity between the interior of the structure and the surrounding greenery. The careful and respectful study of the natural environment allows the structure to blend harmoniously with the landscape, offering a unique and immersive living experience.

The Meria TP project was devised following a strategy to minimize waste and maximize recovery, an aspect that binds double-stranded with the materials used. The wood and the stone in fact have been entirely taken from the pre-existing structure and in some cases have also been subjected to restoration. From an energy point of view the structure is independent and has an extremely low environmental impact. The photovoltaic panels located on the roof provide the electricity needed to power the building and recharge the electric bicycles made available to guests. In addition, a geothermal system provides heating in winter and cooling in summer for both the indoor and the swimming pool.

Meira TP is the project of a former rural building for luxury hospitality, surrounded by the woods of Piedmont, in the Val Variata. The term Meira indicates a seasonal dwelling, formed by a barn and a small residency, and it is a structure of the Italian alpine tradition. The whole project revolves around the concept of fusion between tradition and innovation. What makes it unique are the architectural features of the meira, enhanced through the recovery of materials and the restoration of some parts. The strengths of the project lie in its ability to integrate traditional elements with modern solutions, offering a unique experience that celebrates the history and local culture, while satisfying contemporary needs. The integration of a winter garden is an excellent example of how tradition can coexist harmoniously with innovation, creating welcoming spaces of great charm for guests. The interior design has paid particular attention to the material aspect, stone and wood are the undisputed protagonists, able to create a strong link with the outside of the building. Comfort in an accommodation is essential, for this reason modern and comfortable design furniture and fabrics of the highest quality have been carefully chosen.

Meira TP represents an harmonious fusion between modern architecture and the natural landscape, where large windows and natural materials create a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior. The use of stone and wood enhances the context, while the attention to design and comfort guarantees a refined and welcoming living experience. This project embodies a new way of life, in symbiosis with the forest.

Curriculum

Studio Anna Polisano was founded in Catania in 2001 and deals with all-round design, both interior, landscape, renovation and construction, facing orders of various kinds: residential, commercial, Ho.re.Ca., retail and design of unique pieces of furniture.
The architect Anna Polisano, head of the studio, employs professionals specialized in different sectors, thus creating an efficient, organized and multidisciplinary team.
The hallmark of the studio is a minimalist architecture, bright, colorful, characterized by the relationship between volumes, strong contrasts of full and empty, determining a linear style that emphasizes the materials, enhanced by light, where space takes on the role of undisputed protagonist. Particular attention is paid to the definition of Studio Concept, in which architecture and interior design become sartorial, concretizing ideas of objects and environments making them explorable through the emotions of living the space and its forms.
