Nanchang is a city with beautiful landscape environment. We explored the local color genes for Nanchang, extracted the four color systems: warm jade gray, sky cyan, golden autumn color and dark cyan gray, and established the recommended urban color spectrum for Nanchang city. We applied the urban color spectrum to the key areas in Nanchang, designed the urban color image of these key sections in combination with the reform of building facade, street pavement and street furnitures.
The public space in key areas of Nanchang is the important landmark space and spatial node of the city, which should have a prominent color image. However, the reality is that the urban color of public space tends to be the same, lacks individuality, and has low quality. Therefore, based on the landscape pattern and urban space characteristics of Nanchang, we have extracted and constructed the recommended urban color spectrum, strengthened the urban space image of key areas with the expressive force of color, and created the urban color image of Nanchang with color personality characteristics.
In this project, we studied and extracted the local color genes for Nanchang, and constructed a color system that belongs to the color characteristics of the city's functional attributes, cultural characteristics and natural features. We applied the urban color spectrum to the key sections area, designed the urban color image of these key sections in combination with the reform of building facade, bridge and street furniture.
we are committed to exploring the color gene of Nanchang's traditional culture and natural environment, and deriving and innovatively applying it to the urban space of riverside belt, so as to create a color environment with Nanchang's local significance.This project will make Nanchang different from other cities in color features and help Nanchang city shape its own unique urban image.

This team leader Professor Guo Hongyu is the most professional urban color expert in China. She has completed 13 national, provincial and municipal urban color scientific research projects, has won 19 national excellent paper awards, and completed 17 urban color planning projects in 13 famous historical and cultural cities in China. She’s urban color planning and design works have obvious benefits and outstanding social impact, and won 33 international design awards and 19 domestic design awards.
