Upon delivering various facade concepts for the project, which was already in progress and in the process of being built, the client decided to hire our office for the complete interior design services.

The new offices are part of a larger company, the „Steirerfleisch“. The offices will be used by Steirerfleisch themselves on the ground floor and their IT advisors “Smartr.solutions” on the upper floor. The two work closely together and therefore they can share part of the facilities in the new offices - as for example the meeting rooms and the cantine. The existing interior plans for the project were fully scratched and a carefully developed concept for the new interior has been delivered!

The offices will serve as the main office for Steirerfleisch administration as well as Smartr. Solutions, their partner company. Since the company works with clients from around the world they wanted a representative space with fresh design which reflects the company philosohpy. Some of the facilities will be shared by the two, while the rest of it will be used either as individual offices or for teams up to 4 people.

The incorporation of the natural moss wall was part of the interior concept from the very beginning. Furthermore plants were incorporated as an repeating element of the interior design. Making the plants either part of every room, or creating a visual connection to the greenery from every space. The green wall has a postiive impact on the humidity of the space, increasing it by as much as 25%, resulting in positive effects on health as well as the well-being of the people working int he building.

Since the building itself was already in process of being built, not many changes could have been made on the strucutre itself. One of the first things we decided to do is scratch the "dropped ceiling" from the existing plans. We instead opened up the space and decided to color it black. Furthermore, where possible, the walls were replaced with glass walls. These were custom made for the project - the middle part is made with ribbed glass, providing privacy to the employees while maintaining the feeling of open space. The ribbed glass element is repeated in furnitre elements - like the lobby counter and the kitchen. The material palette is reduced to essential elements like - black metal frames and dark furniture elements are perfectly complimented by the warm ash wood and the greenery elements spread around the interior. The furniture we chose for the offices is produced by ALEA ITALY - custom tables were made for the project to fit every room perfectly. Each room has a slightly different configuration and layout to fit the users needs. The lighting and acoustic elements were chosen to be provided by XAL. Their elegant style harmonized well with our interior and the materials we used for the project. The floor pattern, made out of long-lasting Chilewich floor panels is also custom-made for the project. A lot of thought went into solving various details of the project, like the custom counter or the "green wall". The green wall, for example, sits completely flush with the wood pannelling and the doors of the corridor.

The client put his full trust into our vision. We approached this proejct with utmost care and attention to detail to bring our idea to life. The black ceilings as well as the completely black staircase were met with some scepticisim initially but thanks to the client's trust we implemeneted it and in the end both the client and the employees working there were very pleased by the result.
